José Luís Neto was born in Sátão. Works and lives in Lisbon. He studied in Lisbon at Ar.Co and in London, developing an individual project (idea of light) at the Royal College of Art. He shows regularly in Portugal and abroad since the beginning of the 90’s. In 2002 he received the special prize of the jury of the 47th edition of Salon Contemporain de Montrouge and in 2005 won the 2nd edition of BES Photo Prize, which included a collective exhibition at Centro Cultural de Belém.
