Swedish artist, born in Stockholm. She studied at the School of Fine Arts in the same city and, in Paris, she was the pupil of André Lhote. She held her first one-woman show in 1925, in Stockholm, from when her painting began to receive public recognition. Her work then began to show a post-cubist tendency. Between 1925 and 1938, she was married to Tristan Tzara, and produced some joint works with him. She exhibited individually and collectively, in various countries including Germany, France and Scandinavia.
