British artist from Portsmouth. He studied painting at the Slade School of Art and the Chelsea School of Art in London. After his first one-man show at the Nigel Greenwood Gallery in London, in 1980, Le Brun swiftly developed an international reputation, he participated in important exhibitions around the world, namely Zeitgeist, Berlin 1982 and Avant-garde in the eighties, Los Angeles 1987. Between 1987 and 1988, he lived in Berlin as a guest of the German Academic Exchange Programme and, between 1990 and 1995, he was curator at the Tate Gallery in London. In 1996, he was elected to the Royal Academy. Currently he is a curator at the National Gallery and his work is present in several collections, among which are those of the Tate Gallery, the British Museum, the Courtland Gallery and the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
