Spanish artist, he studied at the Central School of Art and Design in London (1976-77), at the Croydon College of Design and Technology, also in London, (1979-80), and at the Pratt Graphic Center in New York (1982). He returned to Spain and started showing his work at the Franando Vijande Gallery. His first one-man show was held at the Dia Center for the Arts in 1994. Since the mid 80s, Juan Munoz's installations have started appearing in open spaces around the world. He has been responsible for some radio programmes and published books with his own texts. He is interested in art history, architecture, literature, music and theatre. He has held various one-man shows and participated in several collective exhibitions. Currently he lives and works in Spain.
