Born in Cadaquès, Spain. Having gone through the same landscapes, at the same time as Dali, he has treated obssessively the same thematics but with a certain ingenuity in presence of the wonder. His work is, therefore, more close to Wilhelm Freddie than to Dali. Plannels participates, as from 1929, in the Dalmau Gallery, Barcelona, in group exhibitions with Arp, Mondrian, Van Doesburg, Torrès-Garcia. In 1936, he is one of the founders of the logicophobiste group, connected to the ADLAN Group in Barcelona. After an interruption due to political reasons, Plannels returns, in 1947, to his first surrealist interests full of macabre humour. He was invited by Breton and participated in the Surrealist Exhibition in London (1936).
