Born in Rotterdam, Jason Brooks currently lives and works in London. He attended the Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Art and Design and the Chelsea School of Art, where he completed a Masters degree (1992). Among his first exhibitions were To Boldly GoÉ (run by Stuart Morgan for the Cubitt Street Gallery) and the BT New Contemporaries (Serpentine Gallery) in 1993. In 1997, his work was presented in the exhibitions, Likeness: Representing Sexualities, in Manchester and in John Moore's 20 at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. In 1998, he exhibited at the Charles Avery Gallery.
