Swiss Artist who used photography as her main theme. She died in 1997 at the age of 45 from Tuberculosis. Locked in her hospital room, she busied herself by working from her Polaroid and photographing what she regarded as the main theme, her body. She displayed her theme trough close up or at arm’s distance. Thus began her intimate and systematic exploration, a long project which lasted until her last days. The project itself was an anatomic puzzle, “I am my own capital” as she mentioned in her journal in 1980. She wrote afterwards: “I am the sculpture”, as she confuses herself with her work. This is not an autobiographical approach; she dissects her intimacy bit by bit. The ambiguity of theses photographs cropping consisted in never showing her face or a portrait and in integrating a plastic and luminous environment.
