Biography
Born in Evilard, Switzerland. Lives in Paris and Berlin. A selection of one-man exhibitions: Les Soeurs Malades, Kunstahalle, Lukenwalde, 1998 Kunsthaus Dresden. Recent Group shows: 1999 Galerie Eigen Art +, Berlin, Les Sept Péchés Capitaux, Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris. Favre uses different techniques, featuring different iconographic sources, working freely in a multi-media style that encompasses sculpture, objects, video art, performance, installation and personal notes from an intimate diary. Culturally European to the core, Valérie Favre makes her message clear: end the old conflict between homo politicus and the femina privata.
