American artist born in New York city where he lives. Studied at the California Institute for the Arts, having John Baldessari as teacher. Oursler articulates all the available disciplines and technologies (painting, performance, video, music, theatre, etc.) in interaction with daily life situations. A small doll, sometimes of very little dimension that can be found on the floor or under a couch with video projection, of a dummy with speaker and closed circuit camera. Eyeballs in which pupils reflect a video projection and that look and speak at you, are elements of his installations.
