Pakistani artist. She studied at the National College of Arts in Lahore, Pakistan where, in 1992, she received a distinction. She continued her studies at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence. In 1993, she had her first one-woman show at the Pakistan embassy in Washington. Since this date, various exhibitions of her work have been held in various American cities. After 1992, she also began taking part in collective exhibitions. She has received various study grants and awards from the National College of Arts and the Rhode Island School of Design. In 1997, she received the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Award, in 1998-99 the Joan Mitchell Award and, in 1999, the South Asian Women's Creative Collective Achievement Award.
