Biography
English painter born in London. From 1945-48 served in Jewish Brigade and Royal Fusiliers in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. 1949-53 St. Martin’ s School of Art, London. Attended evening classes, Borough Polytechnic, London. 1953-56 Royal College of Art, London. 1957 First one-person exhibition, Beaux Arts Ballery, London. 1969 Taught at Regent Street Polytechnic, London, and Chelsea School of Art, London. Became member of the London Group. 1963 British Painting in the 60s, Tate Gallery, London. 1966-69 Taught at St. Martin’s School of Art, London. 1968 Marlborough Fine Art, London, 1981 MoMA, Oxford (travelled to Sheffield), 1995 Represented Great Britain at the Venice Biennale. 1996 Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam. Lives in London.
