Biography
British artist who learned the bronze melting technique in 1983, while working as assistant to Barry Flanagan. He studied at Cambridge University in 1986 and held his first one-man show in 1988 at the Jay Jopling/Otis Gallery in London. He was chosen to participate at the Sydney Biennale in 1992 and his works were in the exhibition Young British Artists II at the Saatchi Gallery in 1993. He participated in several exhibitions such as Time Machine (1994) at the British Museum, Thinking Print (1996) in New York Museum of Modern Art and Sensation (1997) at the Royal Academy in London. In 1998, he held another one-man show at the South London Gallery. Quinn is frequently associated with Damien Hirst as one of the founders of the British contemporary art movement in the 90s.
