Hungarian artist. He studied Architecture and Visual Arts in Budapest and, later, at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris between 1920 and 1924. In 1925 he settled in Paris and, between 1932 and 1936, was, with Herbin, founder of the Abstraction-Creation group. He created, with Bloch and De Marl, Espace and also participated in the "Salon des Realités Nouvelles". In 1953, he started teaching at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, the city where he was to die some years later.
