Biography
American artist, born in Yonkers, New York. He studied firstly in Atlanta, then at Columbia University, New York and finally at the Brooklyn Museum School of Art. During his formative years he worked as an abstract expressionist, but from 1963 he took on the mantle of pop. The predominant themes in his work, were rock, sport and porn. His subjects included The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Supremes, James Brown, Dionne Warwick, The Shirelles and renowned American football players.
