Biography
Asian artist who, in 1923, moved to Paris. In 1925, he produced his first collages and, in 1926, he took part in the Surrealist exhibition at the Surréaliste Gallery, in Paris. In the following year, he participated in the Salon des Surindépendants and, in 1929, he took part in the exhibition of Abstract Art at the Bonaparte Gallery. In the same year, he had a one-man show at the Nay Gallery, in Paris. He worked in a style which was simultaneously geometrically Abstract and Surrealist. In 1931 took part in Salon 1940 and was co-founder of the group, Abstraction-Création. In 1932, he worked exclusively in a Surrealist-figurative style and took part in a Surrealist exhibition at the Pierre Colle Gallery, in Paris. In 1958, his art moved towards a lyrical abstraction and, in April 1966, he took part in the exhibition, Arp, Hélion, Tuntundjian at the Yvon Lambert Gallery, in Paris. In 1978, he took part in the exhibition, Abstraction-Création at the Paris Museum of Modern Art and in Munster.
