Nasceu e reside em Londres. 1956-59: Chelsea School of Art, Londres, sob Jack Smith. 1959-63: Royal College of Art, Londres. 1963-71: Dá aulas na Chelsea School of Art, Londres. 1964: The New Generation, Whitechapel. 1965: Primeiras exposições individuais: Robert Fraser Gallery, Londres, e Galerie d'Aujourd'hui, Bruxelas (com Derek Boshier). Biennale des Jeunes, ARC. 1966: Primeira exposição nos Estados Unidos, Robert Elkon Gallery, Nova Iorque. 1967: Jeunes Peintres Anglais, Palais des Beaux Arts, Bruxelas. 1969: Primeira exposição na Waddington Galleries, Londres (onde posteriormente exp›e com frequência).
