Biography
Italian born in Turin conceptual artist and writer, Boetti, demonstrated from his early work a preference for simple, everyday materials. Around 1964, he produced objects and family portraits inspired by the works of his Italian contemporaries, Michelangelo Pistoletto and Mario Merz. In his first one-man show, Boetti exhibited a large number of works created in cardboard. He participated in various Arte Povera exhibitions and, in the 80s, produced large tapestries highlighting the theme of mass culture.
